Week 3, 2018, did I and my family host Angelika from Poland for one week. It was a week full of fun, nice and interesting experiences and I enjoyed it a lot!
We had many different activities, all about “being myself and health”. We discussed different habits like, drinking-, physical activite-, smokinghabits etc., and how we think this habits have changed between our grandparents, parents and us and about how it actually have changed. (You can find the result here, on the blog!) We also were on a excursions to, for example, a synagogue, a kind of meetingplace where they talked about LGBTI and “being myself”, one of the swedish brand IKEA:s stores, an icerink, the city hall in Lund, the dome in Lund etc. It was very interesting and even if I´m Swede, I haven´t for example visited the synagogue so it was something new and interesting for me, even if I live close to it.
We also got to show our guests our school and what a school in Sweden can look like. One afternoon we were for example in the home-economics and cooked “seedbuns” and a “healthy appelpie”. Home-economics seems to be a quite unique subject for Swedish schools. There were some country(/countries, I don't remember…) who had something similar to the Swedish subject but I don´t think it´s a very common subject in other countries. Anyway I think it's a very useful and a needed subject because you definitely are going to need to know how to cook food, clean etc., no matter what you work with. 📷
The best from the week was all the friends I made and not at least that I got to know
Angelika. When I write this reflections I’ve already visited Angelika in Poland and had a wonderful week there. I´m very glad over that I have got, and took, the opportunity to be a part in this project even if it have been a quite hard work and time-consuming. I´ve learned things I never would learned if it wasn't for this project.
